Two Weeks with the Fujifilm X-M5
I bought the fujifim xm-5 as my first camera two weeks ago! The transition from an iphone was more daunting than I expected. I actually wondered if I was going to regret buying a camera after the first few days.
Initially, I carried my camera in a bag within my bigger bag. That wasn’t working. It felt like 17 steps just to get to the photo. I was removing the cap and flipping the screen between each photo. it felt like so much work.
I switched to a strap and decided to make a camera a part of my outfit every day. That has been such a game changer for actually taking more photos.
A friend taught me the rule of thirds and I’ve been noticing light more. I’ve also been working on slowing down and waiting for the right shot, instead of feeling pressured to hurry up and take the shot and move along.
I’m so relieved that my camera is starting to feel like an extension of me instead of a foreign object.
This little device really does help me slow down and notice the world around me.
I’m open to any feedback and would love suggestions for fun “assignments” to practice my skills.
thanks!! xx
