So, we ended up in the Dolomites too...
About half a year ago I watched a video of Nigel Danson shooting in the Dolomites, and it gave me two ideas: 1. get the Nikon Z8, and 2. once I have it, take my girlfriend and our daughter to the Dolomites and give it its first real outing there.
Timeline: a few years out, who knows.
For various reasons, though, the South Tyrol trip came around much sooner than I'd planned. So the X-E5 had to step in. (Said with a wink — that's exactly what I bought it for: being out and about.)
It was only shortly before we left that I found out the Dolomites are basically the new Japan, with everyone and their Instagram profile showing up there. (I do have an Instagram account, but I use it very sparingly, on purpose. And I hadn't really touched Reddit in ages either, until about two weeks ago.)
Anyway, seeing all the Dolomites posts here gave me a bit of motivation, and I wanted to put it to use and share some of my own shots.
Here are the first few, from the early days of the trip. All photos are SOOC — a few were only cropped and/or straightened slightly on my iPhone.
I had the 30mm f/2.8 Macro on it. I love that lens and basically run it as my permanent walk-around setup. On this trip, though, I often found myself wishing I'd brought the 23mm f/2.8 pancake instead. And honestly, I keep thinking about a zoom more and more these days... which is something I never wanted originally.
Happy to hear any tips or pointers for the post-processing I'll be doing in LR.
