You’ve seen Tokyo. Here’s South Japan. (Kyushu)
I recently went to Japan and ventured beyond the usual Kyoto route, heading south for a road trip through Kyushu with the missus. A quieter side of Japan, with forest shrines, volcanoes, Shibas and bus stops shaped like fruit. (Which are insanely cool!)
All of these shots were all taken on my Fuji X-T4, mostly with the 56mm f/1.2. It works so well alongside my Leica Q3: 28mm (Full frame, equals 18mm on crop sensor) for the wider scenes, then the Fuji and 56mm for tighter framing and details. I also used the 33mm f/1.4 and the 70–300mm on this tirp, although the latter only accounts for one photo here.
I like mixing the bigger scenery with the little things that make a trip feel like your own. Apparently that also includes taking a portrait of my camera bag. :)
Curious what you think. Which ones resonate, which are a bit meh, and which would you put first?
I’ll be posting a combined selection of my Fuji and Leica shots on Instagram tomorrow, using your feedback to help choose the final set and the opener. If you’d like to see what makes the cut, you can find me on instagram by looking for @ nickpic.
I’d be delighted to have you follow along!
