Exploring China with the GFX system
I spent a few weeks traveling through China with the GFX100 II as my main camera: Shanghai, Yichang and the Three Gorges Dam, the Great Wall, then the valleys around Guilin most tourists never reach. As a landscape photography, I like the GFX not because it's medium format, but for the aspect ratio (4:3).
The seven frames details, I added details on exposure, etc:
Shanghai Nights, Shanghai GF20-35mmF4, f.8, 30s
Yichang Blue, Yichang. GF30mmF5.6 T/S, 1/100s, f/5.6, ISO 80
Red Steel, Three Gorges Dam. GF80mmF1.7, 1/4000s, f/2, ISO 80
Through the Arch, Great Wall of China. GF20-35mmF4, 1/15s, f/5.6, ISO 320
Terraced Dawn, near Guilin. GF20-35mmF4, 1/13s, f/4, ISO 100
Karst Morning, Guilin. GF20-35mmF4, 1/100s, f/4, ISO 100
The Fisherman, Li River, Guilin
If you plan to travel to china, i can only recommend it, it is mindblowing how we misunderstand, as western, this country. One of my favorite part is going through the yongze river, from Chengdu to Wuhan, then heading to Guiling.
Happy to answer questions about traveling with the GFX system. I have more photo from last year trip. but that's for later.
