How far have we really come? Thoughts on the X-E2
I've tried a bunch of Fuji cameras in the last ten or so years - started with the X-T30, then sold it for the X-T4, then X-Pro 3 and the x100vi (fortunately I live in a major city with lots of people looking to sell their cameras, I was able to find a good used price on them). Lately I've been wondering how much better the actual image quality has gotten since the early Fuji cameras so I found a cheap X-E2 and I'm really enjoying it, to the point where I may sell the x100.
Faster autofocus may be the one obvious argument in favour of the newer bodies, but unless you're doing massive crops and need the extra megapixels, I'm struggling to see a huge difference in output between the x100vi and the X-E2, which is about 1/5th the price. And which also, by the way, has the best-feeling controls of all of them and a great viewfinder for its size, it's a beautifully built little camera. I dunno, am I missing something?
