Picked up a camera and started learning photography this year, this is the first photo that made me feel proud

Lighting is natural sunlight peeking into my dark lit bedroom, my cat (Skye) was coincidentally making a poise stance next to it. Was playing around with my camera settings and wasted no opportunity to capture the moment!
I'm still learning the basics, let me know what to improve (saving up for a prime lens, what do you suggest for a beginner on a budget?)
