First shot at macro
I made a friend yesterday while cleaning the fallen leaves from my yard. My cat first noticed the mantis and got super curious, and that made me aware of it. I enjoy seeing all sorts of different bugs in my yard as long as they are not destructive pests and so far i documented a lot of different spiders and frogs but this is the first time i saw a praying mantis this mature.
I tried to pick it up to place it somewhere safe but before i got the idea of trying the macro part of my Freewell WCL.
Focusing the moving friend with my X100V was most of the times a 50/50 chance and then i tried to keep the focus manual and physically getting into the focus range.
All of these are SOOC.
If you have any advice of shooting alive insects it please share.
