Sigma 100-400mm Fuji X-Mount compatibility with Fujifilm XF 1.4x Teleconverter (Tested on X-H2)
Hi everyone, I’m a Fujifilm X-H2 user and I own the **Sigma 100-400mm f/5-6.3 DG DN OS (X-mount)**. I’ve always found this lens to be an incredible value alternative to the original Fujifilm XF 100-400mm.
Recently, I picked up the **Fujifilm XF 1.4X TC WR Teleconverter**, and I discovered something surprising that I wanted to share with the community.
**Physical Compatibility:**
The Sigma 100-400mm has a recessed rear element design, which happens to provide just enough clearance to accommodate the protruding lens element of the XF 1.4x Teleconverter. They fit together perfectly without any physical interference.
To my amazement, the combo is **fully functional**:
* **Autofocus:** Works normally.
* **OIS (Optical Image Stabilization):** Works perfectly.
* **Exposure:** Metering is accurate.
**The only downside:**
The camera body does not "recognize" the TC when paired with the Sigma lens. This means the **EXIF data and the display** (aperture and focal length) do not update to reflect the 1.4x conversion. For example, it will still show 400mm instead of 560mm, and f/6.3 instead of f/9.
In contrast, when I use the same teleconverter with my **XF 50-140mm f/2.8**, the focal length and aperture (showing f/4) update correctly as expected.
I wanted to provide this info for any Fuji shooters looking for extra reach on their Sigma glass. It's a great "hidden" setup for those who don't mind the EXIF quirk!
