I built an AI film recipe curator for Fujifilm cameras: Describe your mood, get a recipe tailored to your body
Hey everyone 👋
I'm Hoplin from South Korea! — I used to shoot on a Sony A7C II + 35GM combo, but fell in love with street and film-look photography and switched to the X100VI as my daily driver. (Nearly one and a half year 👀)
**The problem that bugged me:**
I always had a feeling in my head — the mood, the color, the vibe — but translating that into actual numbers was the hardest part.
I'd grab recipes from FujiWeekly or [film.recipes](http://film.recipes), but they never felt quite right on my mood or weather...etc
I knew WB Shift was the secret sauce of any recipe, but how much Red? How much Blue? I'd end up burning dozens of shutter clicks on trial and error.
So I asked myself: what if there was a curator that understood my mood, my location, the weather, and my camera — and just gave me the recipe?
**So I built it!!!🔥**
# 🎞️ FilmBrew — AI Film Recipe Curator for Fujifilm
Landing page: [https://hoplin.cloud/filmbrew/](https://hoplin.cloud/filmbrew/)
Tell it what you're feeling in plain words, and it builds a recipe matched to your camera's sensor.
**How it works**
Just talk to it like you would to a friend:
"Rainy Tokyo alley vibes"
"My camera is the X-T5"
The curator suggests 2–3 candidate recipes with different directions. Pick one, and your full recipe is ready — just punch it into your camera.
# Want to tweak it?
"Make it warmer"
"Remove the grain"
It remembers the context, so you don't start from scratch. Keep the conversation going until it feels right.
# What makes it different
**1. Ask by film stock name**
"Give me a Kodak Gold look"
It knows the color science of real film stocks — Portra, Velvia, CineStill 800T, Tri-X...etc you name it — and translates that into Fujifilm parameters.
**2. Location & weather aware**
"A recipe for the current weather in Seoul, street style"
Toggle "Use my location" in the chat, and it factors in real-time weather and time of day.
**3. Sensor-aware — it knows your camera**
Tell it your model and it automatically checks your X-Trans generation. Settings that work on an X-T5 aren't the same as on an X-T20 — the curator knows what your body actually supports (Clarity, Color Chrome FX Blue, Grain Size, half-step Highlight/Shadow, etc.).
No more getting recipes with parameters your camera doesn't have. GFX medium format is supported too.
**4. Save & share**
Bookmark a recipe to save it. Hit publish and a shareable page is auto-generated — one link to share on any SNS or community.
Here's a recipe I generated in demo video above and shared publicly — you can see exactly what the output looks like (this is the same recipe from the demo video above):

**5. A few more things**
\- Google sign-in supported (email registration too)
\- Supports English, Korean, and Japanese — it follows your browser language automatically, so it should just work in your preferred language
\- Works great on mobile — the curator is always with you, wherever you shoot

If you've ever struggled to turn a feeling into numbers, or wanted a recipe that's actually built for your camera and your mood — give it a shot!!
I designed, developed, and maintain this entirely on my own, so there might be rough edges here and there. Any feedback, ideas, or suggestions are genuinely welcome — drop a comment and I'll read every single one. Thanks! 🙏
**P.S.** FilmBrew is completely free to use right now. I may introduce a paid tier down the road to keep up with running costs, but the core experience will stay accessible. Wanted to be upfront about that
