Kestrel | Fujfilm X-T3 | XF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6
Caught this kestrel perched up in the branches, just sitting there watching everything below. It stayed long enough for me to get a few frames before taking off again.
The flat grey sky actually helped a lot, keeping the background clean so all the focus stays on the bird and the detail in its feathers. Sometimes simple works best.
I liked how the branches naturally frame it as well. Even when they’re still, kestrels have that intense look about them like they’re calculating their next move.
