Sigma 17-40mm f1.8
Rented the sigma 17-40mm 1.8 for a shoot this weekend with my X-T5. This was more or less my “grail” lens so I had high hopes.
It honestly worked great! Having a low aperture was super helpful doing a shoot at dusk/night in the city. It was also much lighter than I thought it would be (lighter than the 16-55 I believe. At least it felt much lighter). Seemed super balanced on the X-T5 as well
Deciding not to purchase however because the focal range seemed super limiting to my style. If it was like 35-70 at f1.8 I would sell my firstborn, but for portrait centered work it seemed a little useless. I shot 90% of the time all the way at 40mm
I know this is a newer lens and there’s not as much info on it so I thought i’d share!
