Routes des Laves, La Réunion | X100VI
Hey,
I’ve been following this subreddit for years, I never owned a Fuji but got into photography over the last 15 years with two Pentax bodies (K-r and K-30) which died after a few years of use (solenoid problem on the K-30…).
Over the years, I got really tired of editing my photos and really wanted a simple daily camera with great out-of-the-box JPEGs. I was obviously drawn towards the X100 line and waited a few years before finally pulling the plug last Christmas and buying an X100VI.
I still consider myself a beginner and I’m only starting to discover the potential of this camera.
I have the chance to live on La Réunion Island with my family and lately the volcano has been really active. After three unsuccessful attempts at seeing the lava, we went again to the famous "Route des Laves" last Monday and were rewarded with this amazing scene.
Taken at f3.2, 1 second exposure (I wanted to do a longer exposure, but had no tripod and couldn’t find how to go beyond 1s).
Edited in Lightroom (mostly denoise and color grading).
Honestly, it feels a bit terrifying sharing a picture here, everyone seems so gifted in comparison, but here we go…
Have a nice day
