Japan: Yakushima
Had a miserable time learning DSLRs in my undergrad journalism program an eternity ago. Was absolutely terrible at photography even though, generally, I actually enjoyed taking photos. Never picked up another real camera outside of my phone until last year when I went to Japan.
It took awhile to get used to it and get progressively better (sadly Yakushima was before I started getting more comfortable shooting) but these are a few of the better ones I captured.
