Portraits on Fuji
I used to avoid (fear) portraits photography due to my own social anxiety + not wanting to deal with people’s emotions/insecurities and their needs (introvert). But last March-April I did a couple of shoots with some friends because I wanted to try out my new xT30ii and immediately caught the bug.
Instead of shying away from my own insecurities, I dove in and accepted the challenge/responsibility of dealing others’ vulnerabilities. Now I find so much joy in being able to capture others and have the ability (superpower) to make someone else feel better about themselves. It doesn’t always go that way, some experiences are smoother than others, but being able to overcome some of these fears have been really fun! It’s been a nice learning process!
On a different note - I haven’t figured out the best method of finding models, especially male models. If it weren’t for friends it would’ve been really difficult to find any one to agree to model for me without any examples so I’m always appreciative of those early days.
Bodies: xT30ii & xH2 - got it specifically for portraits and capture one capabilities.
Lens: Fuji XF 50-140mm F2.8, Viltrox Pro 75mm F1.2, Fuji 18-55mm kit lens, TTArtisan 10mm (most used to least)
Images: in random order that are currently available on my phone. #16 was from the first shoot, #1 from most recent shoot (2 months ago), #2 first attempt at studio shoot.
