My first photo on my X-T30 III!
I really did love photography for many years but let the hobby die off. I have been catching myself reminiscing about it more and more lately so decided to start again. My last camera was a Canon T2i, which was very hip at the time when I bought it, for time-reference. However I didn’t really immerse myself into the camera. After doing a lot of research, I decided on the X-T30 III. I liked the size, interchangeable lens capability, the sensors, MP, etc all seem impressive for the price. I did go back and forth between the X-T50 and this since it seems like the biggest drawback is the lack of IBIS, but I decided that I don’t need to “future proof” at this time. I decided to use that extra money for 2 lenses instead.. I opted for the XF 18-55 f2.8-4 and the XF 23mm f2. I bought them both used!
Here the very first photo I took after receiving my first lens (XF 18-55 f2.8-4) today. There were maybe 5-10 “what do these buttons do again” shots before this. But, this was taken straight from the camera! I’m seriously out of touch. It blew my mind how I can just shoot a photo from my gallery straight into my phone!
I can’t wait to familiarize myself with everything again and learn about everything I can do with this little machine. I was immediately really impressed with the weight/size of it. When I started digging into all of the settings and learning about recipes, I got pretty giddy!!
I wanted to ask, what do y’all find are the best things to “set up” after first purchasing to optimize convenience and enjoyment? Best things to explore as a newbie? I find myself going into the settings a lot and obviously when I’m out and about I’d like to just whip it out and navigate everything relatively quickly. I’ve noticed I can change what the command dials do (and probably a lot more) but I’m indecisive about what would be best put there. Was thinking ISO as one…
Thank you for any input received!
Oh, and her name is Bonnie. She’s the best.
