Ektachrome 3D Film Emulation for Fujifilm (XE-5, X100VI) - not a recipe/simulation ;)
I've been exploring full film emulations of Kodak Ektachrome 100D 5294 for Fujifilm still photos.
This isn't just a film simulation but rather a full 3D model of the color response of motion picture Kodak Ektachrome 5294 as a 3D LUT and applied to Fuji RAW photos.
I'm a cinematographer so this is more akin to a cinematographer's approach to the color grading pipeline using DaVinci Resolve to color grade the photos, but these were processed from the Fuji RAW photos.
I was able to adapt my Ektachrome emulation LUT that I developed for the ARRI Alexa and apply it to Fujifilm F-Log2 processing of the Fuji RAW (not sure what algorithm they're using to process the RAW data but it doesn't seem entirely accurate...)
Still a work in progress and needs more refinement, but I've been pleasantly surprised with the results!
