Sunrise at Goose Rocks (FinePix S3 Pro, Sigma Art 24-105mm f/4)
Shot in CCD RAW with standard/original profiles for color and sharpness with CCD DR set to auto (settings terminology and profiles were a bit different on these older Fujis, so standard *and* original may refer to more neutral/flat/unprocessed settings). Light adjustments were made for exposure and geometry consistency.
Lightroom cannot read Fuji CCD RAW to its fullest extent (the data from the S-pixels and R-pixels are read and stored differently due to the unique properties of the Super CCD SR II sensors), so there may be some odd artifacting and issues where the two 6 MP data sets are combined for one full 12 MP image.
This 22-year-old DSLR is a dramatically different experience than the Fujis of today, but between the exceptional dynamic range and highly defined Fuji color science - we see the makings of today’s concepts in their earliest forms in this nifty camera.
One of these days I will dial in the film simulation modes for this camera and see what sort of lovely results it can achieve with this legendary CCD sensor! For the time being, enjoy these very first shots I have taken with this camera, and the very first shots I’ve taken on a Fuji!
