2 months with XT4, 23mm f2 and Viltrox 75, photogrophy is theraputic
I got my secondhand XT4 last year for my 30th birthday, but it was mostly collecting dust because I didn't know anything about exposure and didn't care enough to learn. Earlier this year my father passed away, and I picked up the camera as an excuse to go out on the street and distract myself.
I usually bring my Fuji 23mm f2 (later I added a Glimmerglass 1 for this lens) or Viltrox 75mm if I need sharper images. I also cook a lot, so I tried taking images of my cooking. I'm still very new to photography, I'm seeing some improvements for sure, from being a complete newbie to now understanding how exposure works. While selecting the images, I already realise the mistakes in editing from two months ago, and I'm happy about it. Most importantly, I truly think picking up the camera, going out and seeing strangers and capturing the fleeting moment has really helped me get through an extremely difficult time.
I'm considering getting a 33mm f1.4 because I think the 23mm f2 is a bit too wide for me, especially for food. I know I can crop and all, but I think I am more motivated if I like what I see when I'm shooting. I don't know, maybe I should stick to my 18-55mm? But for some reason, I just don't click with this lens as I do with the Viltrox 75 or Fuji 23 f2... Please help me if I'm not using it correctly.
ps: english is not my first language, please ignore if my phrasing is a bit awkward.
