Last weekend in the Peak District reminded me how quickly the UK can turn on you.
Snow, wind, cold rain. Proper bleak conditions around Bamford Edge. But that’s part of why I enjoy it. When the weather strips everything back, you’re left with shape, light, and space.
The snow does most of the work. Grass disappears, clutter goes, and suddenly you’ve got a clean canvas to work with. It forces you to slow down and be more deliberate with what you frame.
The X-T5 was out in it the whole time. No fuss. No complaints. Just kept going while I grabbed a few frames between squalls.
I definitely want to spend more time shooting in the snow. It’s uncomfortable, but it gives you scenes you don’t get any other way.
