Do we do mixed brand sets here?
I've lived around the corner from the Eisbach wave in Munich for years and always put off going down there with a camera. It's one of those spots you see every day and think — yeah, I'll do that properly someday.
Then it was closed for about a year following a tragic incident (rest in peace 😔), and suddenly that someday felt a lot more real. While it was closed I kept thinking about how to approach a spot that has been photographed by millions of people since the 70s. How do you bring anything new to it?
When it finally reopened, I brought E V E R Y - THING. My Fuji with the 33mm, 56mm, and 70-300mm lenses, and my Leica Q3 28mm. I wanted to see how the different focal lengths would tell different stories of the same wave, and I think the combination actually works. The longer end gives you compression and drama, the wider end puts you right in the action.
Which brings me to the question in the title: is a mixed brand set okay to post here, or should I keep it Fuji-only going forward? Happy to split them up in the future if that's the preference. Curious what you all think!
