X100VI- Need Advice (Gear and Skills)
A random collection of some of my better shots over the past year on my X100VI, from a variety of locations including Puerto Rico, New York, and Alaska.
I love this camera but can’t help but wonder if my shots could benefit from a different focal length. I love shooting landscape but I think I struggle with good compositions, my photos feel a bit uninteresting without a subject, and I find 50mm to be better for storytelling with a subject. I sold my old Z7ii with a great 50mm lens. Now I’m left wondering… should I stick to my X100VI and keep practicing, or would I benefit from a Leica M11 with a collection of lenses, or even switch to a GFX100RF. I have several big trips coming up for a wedding, going to Japan, etc, so part of me wants to make sure I have the best camera that jives with me.
Please let me know how I can improve my images and compositions, I’d appreciate any advice on what I’m doing decent and what I can do better. Also any suggestions on keeping the X100VI until the electronics fail or upgrading to a more capable camera. My only requirement is a simple workflow and a simple camera set up, not interested in large interchangeable systems like my Nikon Z/Sony/Canon etc. it hinders my ability to enjoy photography. Thanks!
